Six fast electric-vehicle charging stations at Orchard Park Mall are close to being ready for service.

ChargerQuest CEO Chris Misch tells Castanet they are just waiting on a final connection from FortisBC.

“We’re hoping that will happen very soon within the next week or two, ideally.”

The charging stations are situated in Orchard Park’s north parking lot, near the Milestones restaurant.

“As EV adoption continues to grow, this hub will be critical for EV drivers seeking to top-up while shopping,” Misch says.

Once they are operational, EV drivers will be able to download the ChargerQuest app, scan, plug in, and start charging.

“Orchard Park is excited to partner with ChargerQuest to add 6 electric vehicle superchargers facing Harvey Avenue at the main entrance of our shopping centre parking lot, next to Milestones,” said Catherine Whittingstall, Orchard Park CEO.

“In addition to the vast recycling program that Orchard Park already has in place, this is just another way in which we are working to reduce our impact on the environment.

This EV charging site will be one of ChargerQuest’s flagship supercharging locations in the region.
